Active Balancing of a Supercritical Rotor on Active Magnetic Bearings
Balancing of rotors needs a lot of manpower, specific knowledge and is time-consuming. In the rising field of high speed machinery also the requirements for suitable effective balancing concepts increase. Here a combination of active magnetic bearings (AMBs) and active balancing devices (ABDs) on a supercritical rotor creates the possibility for a partial automation of the balancing process. That way critical rotor speeds can be passed and the time effort for the balancing process can be reduced significantly.
