Unbalance Cancellation with Rotating Reference Control for a Horizontal Shaft
Considering the nonlinear model of Active Magnetic Bearings, a new means of nonlinear control is presented which treats variables as rotating vectors in the control plane, specially the unbalance. It becames easy to cancel out the effect of this perturbation in a rotating reference. Therefore, the rotor can rotate around any desired axis, particulary the geometric axis or the axis of inertia. Simulations illustrate the efficiency of this control law.
